RESTAURANTS & CULTURE
You will not go hungry on your holiday, that we can
guarantee! There is something to suit every taste, from
village pubs with excellent food, simple cafés
for a quick snack and top class restaurants such as
the famous Seafood Restaurant that Rick Stein has made
so famous on the TV. |
Village Pubs
Here is a
link
to lots of locals but we would like to particularly
recommend:
The
Roseland Inn, which is a few minutes away up the
road in Philleigh.
King’s
Head in Ruan, equally close.
But if you don’t even want to get into the car
you can walk up the hill into the village and have a
jolly good meal at The
Kings' Arms and meet all our friendly locals in
the village.
Cafés
Cafe
Chandlers, in St Mawes just by the Ferry.
The perfect spot for a delicious light. Locally sourced
food perfect for filling a picnic hamper.
Rick
Stein's Cafe, obviously Rick needs no introduction,
so do visit Padstow and if the Seafood Restaurant is
not quite what you fancy try the Cafe for morning coffee
or lunch.
Cinema
We hope it won't be wet weather
but just in case the Roseland receives a shower or two
and you want to hide in the cinema the Truro
Plaza may be an ideal spot in which to shelter.
Theatre
If you drive
to Penzance don't leave with out visiting the famous
Minack Theatre.
Quite apart from watching great theatre, the view is
simply breathtaking - and there are gardens and cafes
to enjoy - well worth a trip.

Restaurants
Some of the serious ones…
Tresanton
in St Mawes (pictured above). For terrific food
and stunning views over the habour. Morning coffee
and afternoon tea recommended.
Fifteen
- Cornwall, situated on the Atlantic coast in Watergate
Bay. Great food and an inspiring project from
Jaime Oliver.
Abbey
Restaurant, perched high above the harbour in Penzance,
this restaurant is Michellin starred - a true treat.
